Hidden Paradises
Berlengas - the place was filled with tiny caves
We went to an excursion today (it was my first time getting into the ocean to swim a bit) to an island, called Berlenga. The Berlegas islands are a bit far from Peniche, where we caught a boat to get there (it took an hour).
It's a reservation park, because of its precious sealife (octopuses, several types of fish, etc.). Nevertheless, the only creatures on the island are: seagulls. And more seagulls. And some rabbits, with seagulls. I also saw small lizzards, but.. have I mentioned the seagulls? :)
The island can be visited only in Summer, and there can be only 300 persons on it at a time.

I saw rabbit holes (no rabbits though), bugs, bees, and lizzards. They told me a story that some years ago they had to go killing seagulls (their eggs) because they were too many and they don't have natural predators/enemies. As I could see, there were lot too many. And seagulls have this straaange sound, a bit scary sometimes, like a kid shouting..

Great photo, and nice to see that they limit the number of visitors, hopefully to preserve it's natural beauty.
